Solar Water Heater

Solar Water Heater Price

A solar water heating system is designed to utilize solar energy for the purpose of heating water, catering to domestic, commercial, and industrial needs. With an average solar water heating capacity of 100 liters per day, a typical system can save up to 1400 units of electricity annually. Comprising a solar collector, a storage tank (positioned at an elevated level behind the collector), and connecting pipes, the solar water heating system is usually installed on rooftops with the collector oriented towards the sun. As water passes through the collector, it is heated, and the hot water is then stored in an insulated tank for later use. The stored water remains hot overnight due to the effective insulation of the storage tank. Solar water heaters offer an environmentally friendly and cost-effective solution.

Types of Solar Water Heater

FPC Solar Water Heater

The Flat Plate Collector consists of an insulated metallic box which is covered with toughened glass from the Top. The metallic box contains an absorber sheet (normally made of copper) that is coated with a selective coating to increase the absorption of solar energy. Tubes made of copper (Vertical), known as riser tubes are attached to the absorber and carry the water to be heated. The riser tubes are connected to two tubes (horizontal) called headers, one placed at the top and another at the bottom. The top header is used to take out the heated water from the collector whereas water enters the storage tank and the bottom header is used for the flow of cold water into the collector.

When the sun rises in the morning, the heat energy is absorbed by the absorber sheet and transferred to the water in the riser tubes. The heated water being lighter than the cold water rises and via the top header pipe heated water flows into the storage tank. This process continues until the temperature of the water in the storage tank and the collector equalizes. Hot water is stored in the insulated storage tank and is available for use as and when required

ETC Solar Water Heater

The Evacuated Tube Collector consists of co-axial glass tubes which are fused at both ends with air between the tubes evacuated to create a vacuum that works as insulation. The outer surface of the inner tube is selectively coated to increase the absorption of solar energy. When Coldwater enters the storage tank, fills it up and then flows into the individual tubes until all the tubes are full. When the sun rises in the morning, the heat energy is absorbed and transferred to the water in the inner tube. The heated water being lighter than the cold water rises and via the top header pipe heated water flows into the storage tank. This process continues until the temperature of the water in the storage tank and the tube equalizes. Hot water is stored in the insulated storage tank and is available for use as and when required.
